The Parish Council’s new Church Road Working Group, announced elsewhere in this newsletter, has held its first meeting. Composed of three Councillors and four residents, it was agreed that most of its initial focus had to be on creating a preliminary vision for a centre around the Village Hall (including both the Steep in Need land and the Village Hall site) and achieving a step-change improvement in communications and opportunities to comment on this topic.
We hope to be developing the outline vision during April. This will enable it to be considered by the community at the same time as the various options for the Steep in Need land expected from Wilson Designer Homes.
By the middle of April, we are also planning to have established an improved web presence provided by the Working Group to display information and receive feedback about the Church Road site. For those who are less comfortable with on-line work, we intend to publish a brief information leaflet for the entire community and provide non-digital ways of having your say also during April.
We are actively working with the developer to help ensure that the subsequent stages of the consultation process are as comprehensive as possible.
Residents are reminded that they can comment to the SDNPA about the existing Steep in Need land Master Concept document either via the SDNPA website or emailing the planning officer, Naomi Langford, at [email protected] quoting SDNP/21/05912/PRE in the title. She is also contactable by post to Naomi Langford, South Downs Centre, North Street, Midhurst, GU29 9DH quoting the same reference number.
I would also welcome direct comments to me from residents at [email protected]
